Odd. But admirable. And quite ahistorical.
That’s the only truthful description of Justin Trudeau’s remarkably unstirring caucus.
For a full year, the government has been hammered in the polls, trailing Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives by 15-20 percentage points. A cabinet shuffle billed as a ‘major reset’ passed without effect. A budget designed to melt voter opposition was greeted with icy resolve. And on June 24th the Liberal stronghold of Toronto-St.Paul’s rewarded the Conservative candidate in a shocking byelection outcome.

To put it plainly: nothing has worked. And there is zero evidence of pending improvement. If unaltered, the current trajectory will produce dozens of defeated Liberals across the country.
